Instructions for Applicants

1. Documents Submission and Application

a. In principle, all documents submitted must be original. If a copy of the original is submitted due to unavoidable circumstances, the copy must be compared with the original at the Office of International Admissions before submission.

b. Dongguk University is not responsible for possible disadvantages from lacking required documents or incomplete paperwork. If the applicant fails to submit the required documents which affect admission status, he/she will be disqualified without further notice.

c. If any information on the application form or other submitted documents are found to be false, or if the applicant uses unfair means to obtain admission, the application will be automatically disqualified. Cancellation of admission after the first day of school, tuition fee will be refunded based on the refund policy of the graduate school.

d. Those who are registered in another university and earned two degrees at the same time will be expelled. (based on the graduate school regulation 50, line 3)

e. Notarized copy is valid for 12 months from the start day of application. (July 4th, 2021).Notarized copies that are replacing any original documents must be a ‘true copy’ notarization. Translation notarized documents cannot be accepted as a ‘true copy’ notarization.

f. Admission will be canceled if an applicant cannot stay in Korea legally due to disapproval of visa type change or visa extension according to the regulation of the immigration office.

g. Change or cancellation of the application is not allowed after the application period.

h. Application fee will not be refunded after the online registration period. However, partial or full amount may be refunded under unavoidable circumstances such as erroneous payment, natural disaster, fail to meet the quorum, and change of application period after application starts, other than applicant's mistakes

i. Applicants must use their passport picture for application.

j. Like Hokoubu, Graduation Certificate, etc, Do not send original documents that are hard to re-issue by post.

k. Submitted documents will not be returned.

l. When applying & changing visa, Embassy or Immigration office will ask for the 'Graduation Certificate' and 'Verification of Deposit(VOD)', Therefore, applicant's should prepare additional 'Graduation Certificate' and 'Verification of Deposit(VOD)' after being accepted to our school.

2. Nationality

a. Applicants with dual nationality or stateless status are not eligible to apply. (Applicable to applicant and applicant's both parents)

b. For those who did not acquire non-Korean nationality at birth, applicants and applicant's parents must have obtained current non-Korean citizenship at least 2 years prior to this application

3. Submission of TOPIK or Official English language proficiency test score

a. Must submit either TOPIK score lever 3 or higher or official English language proficiency test score. (Score over iBT 71, IELTS 5.5, New TEPS 327)
Exception : Department or majors where Language proficiency test scores are not required Humanities · Social Science(some departments), Nature Science(some departments), Engineering(some departments), Medicine(All departments)

b. Applicants who hold the nationality of a country where English is an official language or those who attain a BC,MA,DC degree from domestic(Korea) university do not require TOPIK or official English language proficiency test score.

c. Only valid language proficiency tests are accepted. Language proficiency test results which are expired before the start date of application will not be accepted.

1. Issuance of Certificate of Admission

a. Date : August 8th ~ 12th, 2022(Further notice will be announced)
* Certificate will be issued only if tuition fee payment is made in full.
* If there are any unsubmitted documents for admission, certificate issuance is not acceptable.

b. How to receive the certificate : Office of International Admissions will send it by Email

2. Application for D-2 VISA

※ When applying & changing visa after, Embassy or Immigration office will ask for the 'Graduation Certificate' and 'Verification of Deposit(VOD)', Therefore, applicant's should prepare additional 'Graduation Certificate' and 'Verification of Deposit(VOD)' after being accepted to our school.

a. Applicants staying in Korea : Students must visit the immigration office to apply for visa status change (It must be done by August 26th, 2022(Further notice will be announced))

[Required Documents] Submit to the immigration office

Passport, Residence Card, Certificate of Admission, Certificate of Tuition fee Payment, Final Academic degree certificate(graduation certificate), Certificate of Residency(Housing contract, and etc.), Processing fee KRW 130,000, and Certificate of Korean Language Course Enrollment including attendance rate (Only for D-4 visa holders), Bank certificate of deposit balance & Verification of Deposit

b. Overseas Applicants : Submit to the embassy of Korea in their home countries. (Please contact the embassy to check required documents before you visit))

3. Dormitory (NamsanHaksa on Seoul Campus / GoyangHanksa on Ilsan BMC Campus) & Insurance for International students

a. Fee: 370,000 KRW (Namsan Residence Hall in Seoul Campus), 300,000 KRW (Goyang Residence Hall in Bio-Medi Campus) per month(Meals not included / Based on 2021)

b. Application process will be announced after a successful candidate announcement.

d. All the International Students are compulsory subscribed to the local subscriber scheme of the National Health Insurance.
